Currently, the grinding wheels used in domestic rail grinding technology still largely rely on imports. The domestic rail grinding tool manufacturing industry is facing difficulties in technological upgrading and industrial transformation. The development of high-performance domestic rail grinding wheels with independent intellectual property rights is urgently needed. In response to this, it is necessary to develop autonomous grinding tools that are targeted to match the maintenance characteristics of various rail sections in the country, integrate high-quality resources from industry, academia, research, and application, and carry out in-depth theoretical research and technical problem-solving on the existing basis, in order to break the foreign technological blockade and comprehensively enhance China's autonomous maintenance capabilities for railway rails, which is of great significance.
The State Energy Group's self-operated railway lines are long and have a large annual traffic volume. The conformity of the geometric parameters of the railway rails is increasingly demanded, which is directly related to the smoothness, throughput, and safety of train operation. The imported grinding wheels on the market are expensive, while domestic grinding wheels are low-cost, but there are generally unstable grinding effects. There is a need to develop a grinding wheel that is cost-effective, of high quality, reliable in performance, and matches the construction cycle of the State Energy Group's railway.
Through the investigation of the manufacturing process of grinding wheels at home and abroad, combined with new materials, new technologies, and new processes, a new type of composite material rail grinding wheel will be developed to replace the existing grinding wheels. According to the new concept of railway traffic safety and environmental protection, the application of new materials, new technologies, and new processes will make the new rail grinding wheel highly adaptable to the State Energy Group's self-operated heavy-haul line, which can be promoted for use on other heavy-haul lines. At the same time, adjust the grinding wheel formula to manufacture a new type of grinding wheel that matches the general speed and high-speed lines on the national railway.
In order to meet the requirements of eliminating rough grinding marks, rail blueing, grinding wheel fragility, and rotational vibration during the rail grinding process, it is necessary to continuously adjust the formula to solve the problems of grinding performance, heat dissipation, dynamic balance performance, high-strength explosion-proof performance, and environmental protection performance of new materials in the grinding wheel formula for the rails. At the same time, it is also necessary to consider the overall cost and applicability of the grinding wheel when selecting new materials to make a cost-effective grinding wheel.
The grinding wheels to be developed this time need to adapt to the technical environment requirements and construction organization needs of the State Energy Group's track, improve the quality and efficiency of track profile grinding and restoration, reduce cost expenditure, and reduce the emission of dust during the grinding process to meet the grinding requirements of the group's railway lines.
This project belongs to the key technology field supported by the country, which will help promote the adjustment of China's product structure, accelerate the upgrade and iteration of grinding tool products, and have a significant impact on China's economy, technology, and society.
